IBC Special bearings

Many of the bearing designs presented in the previous chapters can be flexibly tailored to your individual application at IBC. In addition to a wide range of already designed special bearings, further special specifications can be defined together to achieve the best possible result.

Among other things, it is possible to design geometry, tolerances, materials, coating and lubrication as a special variant. Below you will find some examples for each aspect:

  • Special geometry

IBC manufactures on request bearings which deviate from the normal standard series. Modification of the internal design with regard to load rating or speed suitability is also possible. In addition, lubrication and retaining grooves can be provided in the rolling bearing rings.

  • Specific tolerances

Both dimensional tolerances and running tolerances can be specified tighter than in the standard if required. For special applications, internal clearance or preload can be adapted to the operating conditions.

  • Special materials

Rolling bearing rings are available for certain types in stainless steel or with heat stabilization. Hybrid bearings with rolling elements made of silicon nitride (Si3N4) are an integral part of the IBC product range. Special plastics such as PEEK or PTFE are increasingly used for cages.

  • Coatings

In addition to the well-known ATCoat coating, the ATCLub coating has become increasingly established. In special cases, a MoS2 coating for dry lubrication or a ceramic coating of the outer ring for electrical insulation are also possible.

  • Special lubricants

IBC uses a variety of different special greases which can be selected based on load, speed and temperature. Furthermore, an adjustment of the grease quantity or a changeover to oil direct lubrication via holes in the outer ring is possible.
